What makes Curly 911 different from other curl brands?

Curly 911 starts with education: how ingredients behave, how products can affect your curls, and how to make sense of dryness, buildup, or lost definition. We’re developing curl care with no intentionally added drying or fatty alcohols, and we’ll explain the ingredients we choose and their roles in each formula.

What is the difference between drying alcohols and fatty alcohols?

Drying alcohols (like ethanol and alcohol denat.) evaporate quickly and can contribute to moisture loss. Fatty alcohols (like cetyl and cetearyl alcohol) add slip and softness, but some people find they contribute to buildup over time. They are completely different ingredient categories — read our full guide to drying alcohols vs. fatty alcohols for the breakdown.

What does Curly 911 formulate without?

We’re developing our formulas with no intentionally added drying or fatty alcohols. That includes ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, and alcohol denat., as well as cetyl, stearyl, cetearyl, myristyl, and behenyl alcohol. We’ll publish the full ingredient list for each product before launch.

Who is Curly 911 for?

Curly 911 centers people with curly hair because finding products that work for our curls can be very difficult. But you don’t need curls to belong here. If your hair feels dry, coated, weighed down, or difficult to manage, our explanations can help you understand what might be happening. Literally all textures are welcome.

When is Curly 911 launching?

We're testing formulas right now and will launch when they meet our standards — not before. Join the waitlist to be first to know, plus get 10% off your first order on launch day.
