The Story Behind Curly 911

. . . stranger my mother calls my fairy godmother.  She placed her hand on my head and whispered, “What’s real in you will always rise.”  No one knew her name.  No one ever saw her again.  But from that moment, my curls grew wild and unbowed.

My family carries two lineages:  One that lit candles in exile, one that sang through chains.

Both survived.  Both passed their strength on.

I carried these curls through Houston’s heat and New York’s steel — I broke in both places, but the blessing never left me.  It lifted me, until I rose again.

Even DNA — the code of life itself — is a spiral.  Our hair isn’t just style.  It’s biology and mythology, ancestry and rebellion.  Our hair is survival written into every strand.

Curly 911 was born from that truth — a love letter to every person whose curls tell a story of strength.  This brand exists to protect, define, and celebrate what the world once tried to tame.
